Fresh Meat Productions is proud to co-present this groundbreaking Frameline program. The alterations of in- and out-of-community perceptions, sexism and medical diagnoses are addressed in these two trans-genre films. Against a Trans Narrative takes the conversation on trans-masculinities in the United States to a bold new level.
Bypassing old-school Standards of Care for transexualism and confronting the Gender Identity Disorder mental health categorization, Diagnosing Difference lets us hear from real experts, like elder diva Ms. Major, San Francisco’s own Cecelia Chung, activist treasure Adela Vazquez and rock goddess Shawna Virago. Frameline33, The 33rd San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival takes place June 18 – 28, 2009. For more information, visit www.frameline.org.
