Have you always wanted to dance? Love hip-hop? Feel like you have two left feet? Feel like there’s no safe space for transgender and queer people in dance? Don’t miss this special beginner-level hip-hop Master Class geared especially for transgender and queer people and their friends and allies!

Allan Frias brought the house down when he performed and presented his original work at the 2009 and 2010 Fresh Meat Festivals. By audience demand, Fresh Meat Productions is pleased to offer this free community class (special thanks to the Alliance for California Traditional Arts for support of these classes).

About the teacher: ALLAN FRIAS has been a leading force of the Bay Area Hip Hop Scene for over 10 years. His acclaimed work is a unique fusion of hip hop, runway, vogue and other styles. He is the premiere hip-hop dance instructor at Dance Mission where he teaches 5 packed classes a week. In 1993 he formed his Mind Over Matter, one of the region’s leading hip-hop dance companies, which performed all over the Bay Area. Allan also directs the Junior Jam youth performance program for the Golden State Warriors. He appeared on the reality TV series, So You Think You Can Dance, earning a place in the final 12 dancers. Most recently, he presented his work at the Black Choreographers Festival and the Fresh Meat Festival.
