Fresh Meat Productions is the first organization of our kind in the nation. We create and present an extraordinary range of transgender and queer arts including dance, performance, music and theater. Our programs include the FRESH MEAT FESTIVAL of trans & queer performance, SEAN DORSEY DANCE, touring performances, teaching and community residencies across the US.
Fresh Meat Productions builds community and promotes social justice: we inspire audiences, support artists, provide mentorship and learning, promote transgender expression and visibility, and transform culture. Fresh Meat Productions was founded in 2002 by Artistic Director Sean Dorsey and is based in San Francisco.
The International TDoV is an annual holiday celebrated around the world. The day is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments and victories of transgender & gender non-conforming people while raising awareness of the work that is still needed to save trans lives. The holiday was founded in 2009 as a reaction to the lack of LGBT holidays celebrating transgender people’s successes. Please find more information at http://tdov.org/
