Grantmakers In the Arts Conference
Monday, October 14, 2:00pm – 3:20pm
Facilitated by Jane Preston, deputy director, New England Foundation for the Arts.
Presented by Sean Dorsey, founding artistic director, Sean Dorsey Dance and Fresh Meat Productions; and Javier Stell-Frésquez, performance provocateur and producer.
Join transgender and Two-Spirit artist/activist leaders to continue the conversation that began in GIA’s Conference in Oakland in 2018 expanding funders’ knowledge of intersectional Trans Equity. Trans and Two-Spirit artist-activists will engage participants around action steps the grantmaking field can take toward intersectional Trans equity, facilitated by Jane Preston, New England Foundations for the Arts’ Deputy Director. If funders want to embrace intersectional justice, what are specific Trans-supportive policies, practices, and strategies we must be equipped with? What and who are we missing?
