June 16-18, 2005
ODC Theater

Fresh Meat is an annual festival of outstanding transgender and queer performance – a sell-out, high energy, deeply moving, outrageously sexy, history-making gathering of exceptionally talented transgender and queer artists from across the nation. Homo hip hop, gender-bending trapeze, tranny glam rock, genderqueer modern dance, all-girl breakdance, the world’s first transgender barbershop quartet…and then there’s dessert!

Hear tales about coming out tranny at a Deep South Debutante Ball; experience the infectious harmony of the world’s first transgender barbershop quartet; witness some of the world’s first trans-themed modern dance; pulse with the throbbing beats of tranny glam rock; hear intersex and transsexual perspectives on the body and intimacy; and be exhilarated by gender-bending, gravity-defying trapeze. This show sells out, so get your tickets early!

Fresh Meat 2005 artists include: Jamie Armstrong-Pouncey, Miguel Chernus-Goldstein, Ryka Aoki de la Cruz, Sean Dorsey and Mair Culbreth, Harlem Shake Burlesque, Thea Hillman and Johnnie Pratt, Dr. Jafer, Jaycub Perez and Katastrophe, Lipstick Conspiracy, Turner Schofield, Sile “Luster” Singleton, Sisterz of the Underground, The TransAMS Barbershop Quartet, and The Viragos.
