WRAPS UP OUR 9-CITY NATIONAL TOUR! This was a BIG year for Sean Dorsey Dance – after premiering our new production The Secret History Of Love at a SOLD-OUT run in San Francisco, we toured the show to 9 cities across the US including Boston, Chicago, Miami, Santa Monica, San Jose, Claremont, Chico, Santa Cruz, and Whitewater Wisconsin. This tour was powerful and transformative for all of us and for the communities we connected with. SDD performed, taught free LGBT-friendly dance classes, and hosted community conversations. We connected with LGBT elders, youth, activists, artists and performed for over 2,500 people (including more than 500 who came out to see us in rural Whitewater Wisconsin!). With the support of the James Irvine Foundation, Sean Dorsey Dance also launched a new Statewide Touring Program – bringing FREE performances, LGBT-friendly dance workshops, and community discussions to cities that have little or no access to transgender arts. SDD taught and performed in: Chico, Claremont, San Jose, Santa Monica and Santa Cruz.
