It is my great JOY to announce that this is Sean Dorsey Dance’s 20th Anniversary Season! And I have been thinking about young Sean—20 years ago he had NO idea what a journey he was embarking upon!
20 years ago, Sean Dorsey Dance had our first full-evening Home Season. It was historic: back then, almost nobody was putting trans artists onstage, and our bodies and lives were completely excluded and censored from the contemporary dance world.
Since that time, Sean Dorsey Dance has toured to more than 35 cities, and we’ve taught (featuring our Trans-celebratory pedagogy) in more than 40 cities, colleges and universities. We’ve broken down doors and made history … with YOU!
AND WHAT A YEAR WE HAVE IN STORE FOR YOU! From Spring 2024 through Spring 2025, we will be offering performances, tours, special screenings, workshops and much more! I am filled with LOVE and GRATITUDE for all the incredible dancers, artists, collaborators, funders, presenters, staff and community partners I have had the great privilege of working with over these 20 extraordinary years.
